Hercule 9°-1/3L

Hercule 9°-1/3L
Ref: BB20680

Yeast, caramel, acetic acid, apples and later plums and roast in the nose. The 9% tingles the throat. This is a unique beer with a homespun flavor. This bottle has a medium effervescence, is sharp and the malt deosn't stay on the tongue for long. Excellent mouthfeel however and parts with a fresh herbal feel in the apiole range. Rounds out as it warms. No fine particulates but plenty of yeast bodies. Very nice.
Beautiful thick black appearance with a darkish head that fades a little too fast. Nice hop bitterness with a wonderfully roasty flavor as well as some nice chocolate undertones. A wonderfully Belgian slant on a stout.

Het Kapittel Prior 9°- 1/3L
Ref: BB20822

Dark brown in color. Plentiful, thick, long lasting head. Fruity, malty with a roasted, smooth taste.
Poured a dark beer with a huge head with super great retention. Aroma is comprised of a mix of spices and roastiness. The mix of spices and roastiness is also very present in the taste and very enjoyable and is also accompanied by strong hops. Body is quite strong with good carbonation. The alcohol is extremely subtle which is a plus when you have a 9% beer. Overall, this is another great beer from a very underrated brewery.

Pours a very pale straw colour, with a fantastic frothy head and wonderful spicy aroma. Head retention was average, probably because of the oil in the spices. The taste of orange and coriander complement the slight wheat malty flavour without overpowering it, little bit of hoppyness. Clean and very refreshing, would have no trouble drinking large amounts of this beer. A fine wheatbeer.
