Oeral 6°C - 33Cl Ref: BB22023Z A hazy dark orange beer with an enormous white lasting head (atleast when drunk from a tulip). The aroma is rather spicy - I can't pick up that much, but yeast, corriander, and caraway. The flavor is sweet and rather complex containing notes of honey, oranges, corriander, and other for me unrecognizable spices. The end is both sweet and bitter combined with the alcohol tingling the tongue. The palate is good - especially considering it weighing in at only 6% ABV. Price: $4.00

Oerbier 7.5°C - 33Cl Ref: BB22021Z Means original, from the spring. This beer has been brewed in small scale (5 gallons). At home in a copper wash kettle, by two brothers who were students at the time. They took over an old brewery which was out of business and said: "If we don't remake the brewery alive, nobody will!". It was also a unique opportunity to create some interesting brews, so why not try it ? Therefore we van and will do the main work ourselves and keep the scale of the brewery like it was. Since then, the brewery and its beers have been an inspiration source for a lot of brewers. Oerbier is brewed from no less than 6 malts. Poperinge Golding hops in flowers and a special veast which makes it a little tart, especially with aging. At the brewery we have excellent cellars which have a constant temperature of 8°C and allow Oerbier to age at its best. After a couple of years Oerbier tastes like it should have been blended with wine … Oerbier has been refermented in the bottle and contains a layer of yeast, having vitamins B. Oerbier Special Reserva 12° -1/3L Ref: BB28096Z Aged in oak barrels, refermented in bottle. Lightly sour and very fizzy. Slightly metallic taste that hides the 12% abv unbelievably well. I’m truly impressed. Usually, the only way to hide it would be behind malty sweetness. De Dolle really delivers here if you like a sourish Belgian ale with wittish bite. Lots of yeast floating in the bottle. More of a flemish sour than any other style. Wow what a beer! Slightly hazy copper body with a rocky off-white head. The elacing is very nice. Big cherry-oak nose. THe first taste is of the wood casks that this beer was aged in, then a more complex sour winey flavor develops. The body is medium and smooth. Op-Ale Speciale 5° - 1/4L Ref: BB28102D Malt and raisin aroma, also some notes like strong black tea from the hops. Dark amber, lace clings to tha glas. Incredibly complex hop taste: A background bitternes like from bitter tea , accompagnied by a range of aromahops which fill the whole spectrum. Medium body, a tad watery exit, but all in all a really lovely beer. Price: $3.60

Orval 6.2°-1/3L Ref: BB20798 In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste. Made exclusively from spring water, spring malts, aromatic hops, candy sugar and yeast, this beer has a very typical hoppy aroma and taste. Oud Beersel Vieille Old Gueuze 6° - 37,5cl Ref: BB28198P Golden orange hue with a very fine white head produced by lots of little bubbles, very good lace too. The aroma hints of barnyard yeast esters, lemongrass and hayfield, woody, sour apple and pepper. The taste starts tart and acidic, lot of crisp fruits found (apple, lemon peel, orange zest). Woody and yesty undertones add depth to a beer that must be drank slowly to full understand all the sublime interaction on the palate. The mouthfeel is a case where a beer doesn't have to be thick to feel wonderful. This gueuze is very dry, crisp and lively, and highly refreshing. Oud Beersel Vieille Old Kriek 6.5° - 37,5cl Ref: BB28197P Red color, cloudy. Head is pinkish and medium. Aroma is wood, old basement mustiness, some fruit and some yeast. WOW Big sour kriek. Cherry flavor is sweet and sour and tart and fruity. Vinegary, woody and earthy. Complex taste. Sweet and sour flavors are well balanced. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, with a lingering cherry tartness. Very nice beer. It nearly a crime that its not being made any more. Hanssens Oud Beitje 6° - 37,5cl Ref: BB30073R The aroma is of sweet and sour strawberries with notes of metal and wood. The color is a dark orange and it has no head. The flavor is sweet though sour so the mouthwater starts running. It has strawberry notes on a lovely lambic background which lends itself to a dry woody lambic end.
